UC Davis Law Seminar in Como, Italy

Wednesday June, 25, 2014

UC Davis School of Law and the University of Insubria School of Law have collaborated to present the International Comparative Environmental Law Seminar in Como, Italy. The recent program ran from May 25-June 6 and included sessions taught by Professors Albert Lin and Richard Frank along with Professor Barbara Pozzo of the University of Insubria School of Law and visiting experts from the Netherlands.
The intensive, two-week program provides opportunities for law students and legal professionals from around the world to study environmental law by examining and comparing European Union and U.S. environmental law policies and regulatory regimes. Topics include pollution control laws (air and water), hazardous waste laws, protection and preservation of plant and animal species, climate change, and regulation and liability for environmental harm.
The 17 students attending the recent seminar hailed from the United States, Italy, Russia, Mongolia, Switzerland, and Montenegro. In addition to their classroom learning experiences, students had the opportunity to visit legal institutions and learn about the rich environmental and historical culture of Como and Milan.
